Media are invited to attend a showcase of zero-emission commercial vehicles and equipment eligible for state incentives through the Climate Commitment Act-funded Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program (WAZIP).  

In April 2026, the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) launched a $112 million program to encourage the transition to zero-emission commercial vehicles and equipment. Washington businesses can apply for incentive vouchers that cover about 40% of the purchase price of a wide variety of medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission trucks and equipment. Up to 90% of the purchase price can be saved when stacked with other incentive program funds. To date, nearly $50 million in vouchers has been requested, with 45% of requests coming from enhanced-eligible purchasers (including small businesses). Nearly 200 different types of zero-emission trucks and equipment are eligible for the program. These include trucks, construction equipment, agriculture machinery, airport loaders, commercial boats, forklifts, refrigerated transportation units, freight-handling equipment, and charging/dispensing stations.  

At the WAZIP Ride & Drive at Pacific Raceways in Kent, participants will be able to view and test drive some of the trucks and equipment that are eligible for voucher incentives under the program. Both on-road trucks and off-road equipment will be showcased at the event. A list of participating vehicles and equipment is available here.

• Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  (event is drop-in; media can attend at any time for any duration) 

• Location: Pacific Raceways, 31001 144th Ave SE, Kent, WA 98042 

• Visuals: Large trucks and commercial equipment eligible for WAZIP incentives will be on display. Media can test drive zero-emission vehicles on a 2.25 mile racetrack, participate in ride-alongs, capture B-roll of vehicles being driven, as well as speak with purchasers, dealers and manufacturers about the vehicles and equipment. WAZIP program representatives will be on-site and available to answer questions.  

• A complimentary lunch will be provided, supported by Puget Sound Energy and Seattle City Light.
