PASADENA, Calif. – Representing international industry, government, utility, sustainability, and innovation leaders in clean transportation, the CALSTART Board of Directors voted to retain its Chair, elect a new Vice Chair and Board Secretary, and welcome three new Directors.

The Board unanimously voted to retain Karen Hamberg, Vice President, Sustainability and External Affairs at Westport Fuel Systems, as its Chair. She also serves on the British Columbia Regional Board of Directors of the Nature Conservancy of Canada and is the past Chair of the United Way of the Lower Mainland’s 2019 Campaign Cabinet.

“Karen was elected Chair in 2017 and has tirelessly led the CALSTART Board through a period of rapid growth and expansion in the organization, including the successful international launch of our Global Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero Program,” said CALSTART CEO and President John Boesel.

The new Vice Chair of the CALSTART Board of Directors is Scott Phillippi, Senior Director of Automotive Maintenance and Engineering International Operations for UPS.
