California Electric Fest showcases makes case for EV investments at California Capitol
California Electric Fest brought together state legislators and community, labor, environmental, and public health groups to discuss the need for investments in zero-emission vehicles and charging equipment in the California, according to organizers.
The day of advocacy showcased electric modes of transportation at the Capitol where visitors could explore a wide range of electric trucks and vehicles — including Class 8 trucks, delivery vans, school buses, passenger vehicles, and e-bikes.
Earthjustice and CALSTART hosted the event. Each organization took the opportunity to make the case for clean transportation, explaining that it’s vital state leaders invest in clean air solutions for the sake of environmental and public health.
“Today in California, big trucks are the number one source of air quality problems. It is a really important issue for lots of communities,” said Michael Berube, president and CEO of CALSTART. “When you go electric, you solve that problem and you can get a more affordable choice at the same time.”
