CALSTART and eTRUC Partners Set to Unveil High-Powered Electric Truck Charging Infrastructure Lab at Ribbon-Cutting Event

Experience the Advanced Transportation Research Center at Southern California Edison’s site; learn about innovative heavy-duty truck test equipment on May 1, 2025.

CALSTART, Electric Truck Research and Utilization Center’s (eTRUC) co-funder California Energy Commission, and managing partner of the eTRUC Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) are ready to debut the Advanced Transportation Research Center with upgraded infrastructure at a ribbon-cutting event next month. Overseen by Southern California Edison, this charging facility at the Electric Vehicle Technical Center (EVTC) will be used to support the testing of heavy-duty trucks at megawatt (MW) power levels and function as a user facility available to third parties and vehicle/charging industry manufacturers.

During the event, participants will hear from industry experts about the lab’s unique features and capabilities. They will gain insight into how the use of new electric refueling infrastructure is being deployed to advance the adoption of heavy-duty trucks and improve air quality around low-income and disadvantaged communities along heavily trafficked freight corridors. Workers in air quality management, federal and state agencies, utilities, ports, and trucking groups are encouraged to attend.

The press will have the opportunity to ask questions at the close of the event.

Please note: Media cannot enter the Advanced Transportation Research Center’s interior offices.
