INTERVIEW: LatAm accelerates bus electrification

Uruguay and Costa Rica leading in specific segments, while the region’s largest markets are looking to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission vehicles.

The development of charging infrastructure, the upfront cost of electric vehicles and regulation remain among the main challenges for fleet operators and manufacturers.

At the same time, new business models and electric freight corridor projects are beginning to provide lessons that could be replicated in other markets.
