#NTDAW: Winning in Zero-Emission Trucking with EV Realty
Authored by CALSTART
Last week, EV Realty broke ground on a transformational, new fast-charging depot that will leverage grid power to charge electric trucks in the Inland Empire region and broader SoCal area. Located in San Bernardino, the charging site will use around 10 megawatts of power from the grid once fully functional in early 2026 and will feature 76 DC fast-charging ports, including megawatt charging. Additionally, it is strategically placed near major freight corridors and logistics centers in the Inland Empire and along key routes to the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to ensure that fleets can come charge when needed.

EV Realty is already a major player in the EV charging industry. The company has several other charging sites currently under development, including but not limited to sites in Torrance and Livermore. The Torrance location will be crucial for fleets near the Port of Long Beach while the Livermore location will help to serve Northern California.
The progress on the San Bernardino site is a sign of momentum for the company and a vote of confidence for the industry. In fact, EV Realty raised $75 million to scale up operations and provide charging solutions for fleets in Southern California and beyond. Moreover, despite federal setbacks, the facility is continuing to make great progress thanks to policies and programs offered by state and local leaders in California.
State programs like California’s HVIP, funded by the California Air Resources Board, and EnergIIZE, funded by the California Energy Commission, give organizations like EV Realty the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality to transform zero-emission trucking, and zero-emission transportation as a whole. Individuals and organizations can take advantage of this funding to continue moving these innovative projects forward.
