Alycia Gilde

Effective June 15, 2026, Alycia Gilde will be appointed as Executive Vice President, California and Regional Market Acceleration.

Alycia Gilde will lead California strategy and provide thought leadership to drive high-impact collaboration among stakeholders across the state, from government officials and transportation agencies to members of the clean transportation industry and regional transportation organizations. She will also oversee the direction of the organization’s regional offices, including the West Coast, Midwest, and Northeast, and drive growth in emerging markets such as the Southeast and Texas.

Gilde brings more than 20 years of experience in climate change and clean transportation. She has advanced the nation’s largest emissions reduction programs and is passionate about building sustainable partnerships that inspire action and drive global change.

“Alycia is an inspired hire,” said Michael Berube, CEO, CALSTART. “She brings deep cross-functional expertise, having shaped clean transportation strategy at the White House and U.S. Department of Energy after serving in multiple senior leadership roles at CALSTART. As a key thought partner, she will help identify and scale the most-successful strategies and programs to accelerate clean technology adoption in states and build affordable solutions that work for all people and businesses.”

CALSTART’s Jared Schnader is promoted to Executive Vice President, Initiatives.

Jared Schnader, who has been with CALSTART for nearly a decade, will lead five programmatic initiatives, ranging from Trucks and Off-Road Equipment, Buses, Clean Fuels and Infrastructure, Innovative Mobility, and Light-Duty Vehicles, and have significant operational and financial alignment responsibilities across these same initiatives. He recently served as Vice President, Bus Initiative and continues to host Transition to Zero, a transit-focused podcast designed for senior-level expert discussions.

“As a strategic thinker and someone who understands the business fundamentals of zero-emission vehicles, Jared has advanced our capabilities across a host of programs and provided a real strategic spark,” explained Berube. “What truly sets Jared apart is his proven ability to deepen and inspire our team of subject matter experts — the backbone of our organization.”

By bridging regional market acceleration with cross-cutting initiatives, these executive roles fortify CALSTART’s ability to translate market, technology, and community needs into solutions. This structure ensures a cohesive, innovative approach to driving clean transportation technology adoption and securing an improved transportation future for our communities.
