
Michael Kodransky
Senior Director of Innovative Mobility
Michael Kodransky joined CALSTART in 2026 to lead strategy, program development, and market acceleration for Innovative Mobility, advancing the deployment of affordable, clean, and abundant multimodal transportation solutions that move people and goods.
Michael brings more than two decades of experience bridging local and global perspectives, guiding cross-sector collaborations that engage governments, investors, businesses, development banks, civil society, and communities to advance sustainable investment, build resilient places, and improve socio-economic conditions worldwide. He is recognized for translating complex mobility and infrastructure challenges into concrete strategies that mobilize resources, align stakeholders, and drive systemic change. His work has included growing member-based industry coalitions accelerating clean transportation.
Prior to CALSTART, Michael directed transportation decarbonization at Ceres, spanning road, rail, maritime, aviation, and pipeline safety, engaging policymakers, investors, and companies. Earlier, as U.S. Director at the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy, he grew the U.S. regional program, founded the global MOBILIZE leadership platform, and led major initiatives that reshaped urban development practices across the United States, Latin America, and Asia.
He has worked with national, state, and local governments as well as companies, financing institutions, and civil society partners across dozens of countries and more than a hundred sub-national regions and cities. Michael has served as an Expert Reviewer for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities, as Chair of the Sustainable Transport Award committee, on the Advisory Committee of the Clean Vehicles Coalition, on the Steering Committee of the Accelerating to Zero Coalition, and as a member of the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) Global Street Design Expert Network.
