Work History

Katrina Bayer joined CALSTART in February 2023 as Lead Project Manager – California Transit Bus. New to California, Katrina spent 13 years working in mobility and clean transportation in the Houston area.

Prior to joining CALSTART, Katrina served as Deputy Assistant Director of the Traffic Management Branch of Houston Public Works, held planning, advocacy, and leadership roles at Central Houston Inc., and launched the Transit Fleet Expansion program at the Houston-Galveston Area Council.

• BA in Economics with a focus in Public Policy from Trinity University (San Antonio, Texas)
• Certified PMP (Project Management Professional)
• Certified Planner – AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners)

Work Approach

Katrina’s work will focus on Transit Fleet Electrification assisting agencies with planning, procuring, and deploying zero-emission vehicles. Keenly interested in alternative fuels and emerging technologies, Katrina is eager to play an active role in the adoption and implementation of zero emission transit fleets.
