Policymakers, Manufacturers, Labor Leaders Showcase Zero-Emission Trucks and Buses Amidst Congressional Attacks on EPA Clean Trucks Rules
CALSTART, joined by National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi, congressional leaders on clean transportation, United Steelworkers, and zero-emission vehicle manufacturers celebrated American-made heavy-duty technology on Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON — On Wednesday, September 18, CALSTART presented its second annual zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty vehicle display in Washington, D.C., to showcase the diverse and market-ready technologies helping to accelerate the transition to cleaner transportation, and highlight the historic progress bringing clean energy manufacturing investments and jobs back to the United States. Assistant to the President and White House National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi gave remarks, as did members of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, the bicameral Electrification Caucus, and representatives from industry, labor, climate, and health organizations.
As clean transportation and clean air champions were showcasing electric trucks and buses and touting the benefits of cleaning up the transportation sector, the House Energy and Commerce committee majority advanced a Congressional Review Act Resolution to unravel EPA’s recently finalized Phase 3 Heavy-Duty pollution standards.
