Clean vans on demand: Fresno Black Chamber
unveils new mobility program

In late February, the Fresno Metro Black Chamber Foundation (FMBCF) announced the launch of Van-Werx, a van-hailing service designed to expand clean transportation options in the region.

According to a news release, Van-Werx is a first-of-its-kind service in the region, offering on-demand and scheduled van rides powered by clean energy electric vehicles.

The $1 million, multi-year funding initiative was awarded by California’s Clean Mobility Options program with the support of CALSTART, a nonprofit driving clean transportation. The program aligns with the chamber’s commitment to advancing economic opportunities, environmental sustainability and inclusive mobility for residents and businesses.
