Work History

Marc Gottschalk has spent his career advancing technology to benefit the environment. He is a co-founder of the Cleantech Open, a non-profit, and the world’s largest cleantech accelerator helping entrepreneurs establish and build companies in clean technology, and co-founded the Clean Technology and Renewable Energy Practice as a partner at Wilson Sonsini, a world-leading law firm for technology companies.

He also served as Chief Legal Officer for Proterra, an EV bus and energy storage company, and Iontra, a company with transformational battery charging technology. He continues to serve as a board member and advisor to venture-backed technology companies.

Mr. Gottschalk brings a wealth of experience and entrepreneurial drive to CALSTART in support of its leadership in clean transportation.

My focus is always on what I can do to help others as an effective, efficient service provider who always has the organization’s goals in mind. I firmly believe in mentorship and training, and that ego should be left at the organization’s front door. I also believe in encouraging others to speak their truth as I will my own for the betterment of CALSTART.
