Work History

Sam’s previous experience with grant-writing, policy, marketing, blog-writing, and educational events of varying scales (both in-person and virtual) taught her how communication can help advance a shared vision for sustainable transportation (last-mile, light-, medium-, heavy-duty, and multi-modal). Her career pivot to software development and engineering taught her that “compassionate grit” was essential to delivering value for folks. She is thrilled to return to the world of sustainable and clean transportation at CALSTART.

  • MPH from University of Southern California (USC) Keck School of Medicine

Work Approach

Over the course of my career, I saw the transformative power of collaboration and applying expertise, educational experience, and creativity to advance resilience, adaptation, and mitigation. I believe that community-and-network-based communication is the foundation for the intentional and compassionate decision-making that advances sustainable transportation. Lastly, I lead with the idea that responsibly-and-accessibly implemented technology can help improve outcomes for all.
