Ian Fried joined CALSTART in 2023 as a Lead Project Manager supporting school bus electrification.

His goal is to support CALSTART’s drive to zero emissions initiatives for school buses throughout the northeastern United States.

Prior to joining CALSTART, Ian worked for a medium and heavy duty electric vehicle manufacturer, where he oversaw school bus electrification. His background is in project management, education, and sustainability. He received a master’s degree in teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education in 2015 and is a former high school Environmental Science and Sustainability teacher. He received his B.S. in Environmental Science from Emory University.

In his non-working hours, Ian is an avid rock climber and cyclist and can probably be found outdoors somewhere.
