Brian Ballschmidt is the Deputy Director, Bus Technology & Infrastructure, where he leads a team focused on technology development, vehicle deployments, microgrids, and workforce development.   He and his team members work directly with transportation agencies, state & federal agencies, manufacturers, suppliers, and universities in the adoption and implementation of zero emission transit fleets across the nation.  Brian brings to CALSTART a broad history within the commercial vehicle industry with roles as Chief Vehicle Engineer, Senior Program Manager, Division Manager, Product Manager, and Manufacturing Engineer. He has worked for leading companies such as Navistar, Nikola Motor, and Proterra, and has also provided consulting services to industry suppliers and OEMs.
