Xiomara Chavez joined CALSTART in 2022 as a Lead Project Manager for Communities in Charge. Xiomara helps support the CALSTART team to design and implement an incentive program that helps the State of California to meet its EV charging infrastructure goals. Xiomara believes that the transition to Zero Emission Vehicles must include everyone in a way that meets communities in an equitable way.

Prior to joining CALSTART, Xiomara has designed and implemented other statewide grant programs with an equity first lens.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Xiomara lives in Tvnga territory (aka Los Angeles) and is a proud dog mom.
