Roger joined CALSTART in 2022 as a GIS Analyst for the Clean Fuels and Infrastructure team. He obtained his Master of Science degree in Geographic Information Science at California State University Long beach and his Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science with a minor in Spatial Science at the University of California Santa Barbara.

Prior to joining CALSTART, Roger was a participant of the NASA DEVELOP program and worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory utilizing GIS analysis techniques with satellite imagery for applied research projects pertaining to environmental conservation. His portfolio includes projects in collaboration with federal, local, and international land conservation agencies mapping hydrological resources and modeling ecological habitat suitability. He aims to have a positive impact on the natural environment through his work in geospatial intelligence and to provide decisionmakers with well-researched, digestible information for policy making and policy management.
