CALSTART Announces New General Counsel

PASADENA, Calif. – CALSTART is pleased to welcome Lynette Pitchlyn as the company’s new vice president and general counsel. Ms. Pitchlyn will be responsible for overseeing all corporate legal endeavors, including government contracting and contract compliance matters.

Ms. Pitchlyn’s previous role was as associate general counsel at SiriusXM, where she provided legal advice on e-commerce and business initiatives, as well as drafting and reviewing agreements focused on finance, marketing and engineering, among other specialty areas.

Prior to SiriusXM, Ms. Pitchlyn served as assistant general counsel, senior assistant general counsel, and deputy general counsel at Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), engaging in increasingly more responsible duties, including managing a team of attorneys working in such areas as corporate law, labor and employment, technology, innovative services, real estate, marketing and engineering, among others. She also provided legal counsel in government procurement; contract, labor, healthcare and criminal law; risk management; and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Pitchlyn has also served as director of procurement and contracts at Parkland Hospital, executive team leader at Target and as an assistant district attorney, consumer fraud and financial crimes, in Sedgwick County, Kansas.

Ms. Pitchlyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in general studies with emphasis in women’s studies and a minor in sociology from Wichita State University. She earned her Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law.
