CALSTART Adds Two Senior Executives to Support
Growth and Next Level of Impact
PASADENA, CA—CALSTART today announced that Suzette Salandy and Marc Gottschalk have joined the nonprofit organization as VP, People Resources and Chief Legal Counsel, respectively.
CALSTART has grown recently to a staff of more than 200 and now administers more than $1 billion in clean transportation incentives. Both hires, which serve on the executive team, are critical to meet the growing needs of CALSTART as a recognized leader in the movement to decarbonize transportation on a national and global scale.
Suzette will be responsible for overseeing human resources services and operations as well as leading the organization through periods of growth.
“I am pleased to welcome two senior executives with such impressive backgrounds during this growth period as we increase our impact both nationally and internationally.
“Suzette is a seasoned human resources leader who brings deep business and nonprofit acumen to the role. Moreover, Suzette’s talent management expertise and can-do spirit sets her apart. She is poised to advance our culture and the well-being of our workforce in ways that keep our mission strong and our momentum toward it resolute,” said John Boesel, President and CEO of CALSTART.
Marc will be responsible for all legal and compliance activities, playing an integral part in shaping the organization’s overall compliance and business strategy.
“Amid increasingly complex legal and regulatory landscapes, Marc’s legal counsel, strategic negotiation skills, and business acumen stand out. Marc is an accomplished attorney who is well known for the excellent legal counsel he has provided to previous clients in the technology arena, including Proterra, Iontra, and Sanmina. Marc also co-founded the world’s leading cleantech accelerator, Cleantech Open.
