Casey Lenfest

Project Manager II

Casey is a Project Manager in the Midwest region where he focuses on innovative mobility, infrastructure, and fleet electrification activities across transit and commercial vehicles. He currently leads our fleet transition planning initiatives for the Midwest office across all classes of vehicles from light-duty through heavy-duty. He also supports national efforts around clean fuels and infrastructure with a focus on advancing Demonstration and Deployment efforts, one of CALSTART’s key strategic activity areas. Casey works closely with fleet operators to analyze operations and determine power demand, infrastructure requirements, emissions reductions, and total cost of ownership calculations around transitioning to zero-emission vehicles. He also supports regional and national working groups and works with stakeholders to increase the number of zero-emission vehicles on order or in operation across the country.

Casey brings a wealth of knowledge to CALSTART around sustainability best practices, community development, and strategic planning for sustainability initiatives that benefit the business and the community. Before joining CALSTART, Casey helped the City of Columbus advance its sustainable transportation initiatives through work that included developing a benchmark analysis and a cost-benefit analysis for Smart Columbus that was focused on the installation of EVSE at private employers. The analysis was critical in expanding workplace charging opportunities across the city. He also assessed global sustainability targets for a Fortune 1000 company and developed the strategy to successfully achieve the goals. With a background at the intersection of sustainability and business, his other work has given him experience in renewable energy, corporate social responsibility, economic sustainability, social impact, and materiality assessments.

Casey earned his B.S. in Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability (EEDS) from The Ohio State University, while specializing in Community Development.
