Dominic Occhiato joined CALSTART in 2023 as our Compensation & Benefits Manager, enhancing our overall Total Rewards with focus on compensation and benefits for employee retention, compliance, and overall sustainability for our continued growth.

Prior to joining CALSTART, Dominic worked for Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) as a Human Resources Business Partner. In this position, he focused on employee benefits, compensation, recruitment, and employee relations. One major achievement from his time as a Human Resources Business Partner was the improvement of company benefit options for employees across the United States, offering more options at better premium rates to align with organizational and employee needs. His career spans many areas of human resources in the non-profit trade association, tech, distribution, e-commerce, and entertainment industries.

Dominic holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, as well as the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certifications.
